What it Means to Make a Major Gift

When collectors invest in art, they connect with an artist’s vision. When they become patrons, they share this vision, enabling the art to find new life—and a new context—within a community they value. Giving to the Art for Justice Fund takes this familiar model a step further, directing the proceeds from the sale of fine art to strategically address one of our nation’s most pressing social justice concerns.

Donors making major gifts of more than $500,000 can participate in one of three ways:

  • Make a cash donation
  • Donate stocks or securities that can be sold, converted to their market value
  • Donate works of arts (or other tangible assets)

All donations go to support the initiatives that fall within the Fund’s five strategies for grantmaking.
