Grantee Cohort Fall 2018, Spring 2018

Location Ohio

Founded in 2007, Stand Up for Ohio builds movements for social justice in Ohio. It has led large-scale electoral campaigns in six cities across the state. Its strong suit is voter engagement, training hundreds of volunteer leaders to motivate communities to take action and create legislative change.

Through its partnership with Art for Justice, Stand Up for Ohio’s advanced its  efforts to reform Ohio’s criminal justice system, including stated wide canvassing and messaging efforts during the final phase of Ohio’s Issue #1 campaign (the Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment, and Rehabilitation Amendment). Its goal is to expand organizing activities into target geographies to reach more people of color, low-income people, and young people impacted by the justice system.
