The Campaign for College Opportunity

Advocating for underserved students

Grantee Cohort Fall 2019

Location California

Founded in 2003, the Campaign for College Opportunity has a strong history of reaching and advocating for underserved students, including undocumented students and students of color. By framing the issue as one of education for all, rather than a special program just for justice-involved students, the Campaign changes the narrative from one of special reentry to one of dignity and equal opportunity.

With support from Art for Justice, The Campaign for College Opportunity increased opportunities for formerly incarcerated men and women in California by opening avenues to higher education and leadership and raising awareness of the needs of justice-involved students among leaders with influence in California’s public higher education system.
